Google reader shutdown minimally impacts flitter, feedHopper
« on: March 14, 2013, 12:51:43 AM »
As many of you may know, Google is shutting down their reader platform which many iOS readers are heavily dependent on.

Luckily flitter and feedhopper use their own RSS technology and are not a reader front-end.   The following features may be impacted (based on what Google means by 'shutdown'):
1. Google Reader synchronization
2. Importing, exporting feeds to/from Google Reader.
3. Internet feed search

Thats about it.  Ill amend this list if something else dawns on me.

One thing about turning off google sync: for the first few articles the apps download you may get duplicates. This is because reading through google change an article's signature sometimes and so feedHopper thinks it has a new one.

The duplicates effect is short lived.
