Problems with special characters

Hi, I fjust found your EasyChartBuilder-Plugin for WP and it´s exactly what I´m looking for. Thanks for this great plugin!
But one problem accured with special characters (German "Umlaute" ä, ö, ü etc.)  in title and groupnames.
In the title an "ä" shows up as "u00e4".
An "ä" in the Groupname shows up as "ä" in the chart but as "ä" in the table.

How to solve this?

can you post the shortcode so I have a good testing example?  I want to make sure I nail this.
